Hello! I am excited to embark on this journey that you are courageously starting. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Work Associate (CSWA) in the state of Oregon. I received my master’s degree in Social Work from Portland State University.
My experience includes:
Providing crisis intervention for children, adolescents, and adults experiencing suicidal ideation, psychosis, and behavioral issues within an emergency hospital setting.
Working with families and children regarding the impact of trauma/abuse/neglect on families and children.
Working with transgender/non-binary youth, providing mentoring and counseling around their gender identity.
Providing support to youth battling substance abuse disorders, from a harm-reduction approach.
Providing support and counseling to youth struggling with sexualized behavior and offenses.
Consulting with others to provide the most culturally competent services to all marginalized/oppressed groups.
Experience as an educator/teacher and social worker in a school system with complex needs.
I strive to realize my own privilege, and to be mindful of how it impacts the work I do daily. I approach therapy from a trauma-informed, client-centered, strengths-based approach. I use skills from CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy), DBT (dialectical behavioral therapy), MI (motivational interviewing), and humanistic/existential therapeutic modalities. I believe that humor and fun can be healing and incorporate both into my style of practice.
I am honored to partner with you on your therapeutic journey.
