I am unable, at this time, to take any insurance. This is not my choice– I would prefer to be able to do so. However, getting paneled with insurance (this means that insurance will accept my services and pay me for them) is a difficult process that takes several months or years.
It might be possible to receive reimbursement from your insurance company if you have out-of-network benefits. If you have an insurance deductible, you also might be able to count the cost of our sessions toward your deductible. Please check with your insurance company for further clarification. I’m happy to help you figure out your insurance benefits as much as I can.
I expect to be able to take several forms of insurance, including OHP HealthShare and OpenCard, by 2019.
In the meantime, if the cost of counseling services is prohibitive, here are some community resources that offer very low rate counseling to those in need:
William Temple House: $5-$30 per session
Portland State University Community Counseling Clinic: $15 or less per session
